MiniModule/Ethernet

Ethernet LAN communications controller

Compatible with the popular Novell
NE1000 adapter

 IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) compatible

 High speed operation (l0M bits/second)

 Two versions:
 Thin coax interface
 Twisted pair and AUI interface

Stacks directly with Ampro CPU and
expansion products

 Ultra compact PC/104 form-factor:
3.6 x 3.8 inches (90 x 96 mm)

 Low power, rugged, and reliable

The MiniModule/Ethernet expansion
module offers connectivity to the popular
Ethernet local area network (LAN) in a
compact, low power, PC-compatible unit
designed to stack directly with Ampro's
Little Board and CoreModule
family products.

The MiniModule/Ethernet is compatible
with the popular Novell NE1000 PC bus
adapter. As a result, most network oper-
ating systems, drivers, and utilities for
using Ethernet in a PC-compatible envi-
ronment can be used without
modification. This includes Novell
Netware, a variety of peer-to-peer PC
LANs, and system connectivity products
such as TCP/IP and NFS.

All standard Ethernet media are sup-
ported through two versions of the
MiniModule/Ethernet product. One ver-
sion provides an onboard thin coax
(10Base2) interface. The other version
interfaces directly to twisted pair
(l0BaseT) media, and also offers an
"AUI" connector for external interfaces
which support thick coax (l0Base5) or
other cabling. Adapter cables, available
as an option, are used between the
module's onboard interface header con-
nectors and the standard network media
connectors.

The MiniModule/Ethernet can be in-
stalled on Ampro Little Board and
CoreModule family CPU or expansion
products, in any PC/104 module-stack
position. The module can stack directly
with other PC/104 modules, without ad-
ditional adapters or accessories.
